I had the pleasure of being one of the photographers present for Burlesque Noir Presents: Red Hot Summer Burlesque at The Launchpad last Saturday, June 18, 2011.
Featured perfomers were:
Kellita from San Francisco
Burlesque Noir
Kitty Irreverent
Mena Domina
IntoxiKate
Vertigo Venus
MC Xavier Wyntir
DJ Brian Botkiller
If you missed the show, here is a gallery of photos that I took that night. You may also view videos from that night here. And you also can see many of these performers, including Ann Gora, General Blackery and Zircus Erotique at the Hot Rod Hop Saturday, July 2. You may read more about it and get tickets to the event here.
Q. If I upload some images of people to FaceBook, can Facebook use those images in one of their advertisements? Can I be held liable for how Facebook uses my photograph?
I will be at The Launchpad tonight doing photos for the Burlesque Noir show. Vertigo Venus is doing a sound check now. It should be here great time. Come on down!
I have been using Hootsuite as one of my Twitter clients for some time now and I really like it. One of the newest features that they have is message scheduling. For instance, if I want to promote some of my new photographs, an event, etc., I can now schedule it in advance and it will go out automatically at the time that I choose. This allows me to be more productive and to do things that I want more time for...like take photographs! As a business owner, I find this a great networking tool and an easy way to promote my work. Check it out!
Due to the fires in Arizona, the smoke has created some very interesting atmospheric conditions in Albuquerque. Here is a shot of the moon that I posted to Facebook a few days ago. I will try to post some photos of the interesting looking sun soon.
The fire has reportedly burned about 400,000 acres and is less than a mile from the New Mexico state line.
To be honest, I don't generally reblog many things that I read and if I do, I don't often comment on them. However, I found this particular blog entry both enjoyable and inspiring so I thought that I would share it.

During our studio visit, you mentioned to me that this group of work was particularly hard for you. You said you struggled a bit around your first few paintings - can you tell us about that period and how you got through it?
